In the context of a worship service, music should never be “music for music’s sake.” As worship leaders here at First Baptist it is our desire to assist the people, through the medium of music, to encounter God. We are not just to sing and play songs. We are not here to entertain or “perform” for an audience; we are here to use everything at our disposal to glorify God and edify His people. The Music Ministry at First Baptist Church is dedicated to facilitating opportunities to worship and to respond to God’s Word.

Celebration Choir
Our Celebration Choir leads worship for the 10:45 am blended service, Any adult or high school student is welcome to join. Rehearsals are Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 pm in the choir room. For more information contact Walt Brown.

Celebration Orchestra
Rehearses Sunday mornings at 8:30 and plays for the 10:45 worship service. Auditions are required. For more information contact Walt Brown.

Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir rehearses each week from 5:00–6:00 pm. Their schedule coincides with the school calendar. There are musical performances at seasonal times and our 10:45 morning worship service. Children ages 4-12 are welcome to join. For more information contact Barbara Ahmed, or Holly Strickland.

Handbells
This Four Octave handbell group meets each Sunday afternoon at 5:00 pm. They play on a regular basis in the 10:45 worship service and for season celebrations. For more information contact Bob Dierdorf.
