The Sunday School program at First Baptist is the heart and soul of our program ministries. If you are involved in Sunday School, you will not miss out on ministry opportunities nor being ministered to! In Sunday School, you will find a circle of friends with like-interests and similar needs and lifestyles. In Sunday School there will be clear Bible teaching, fellowship opportunities, and service projects.
All Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 a.m.
On your first visit to Sunday School, enter into the main front entrance of the church. A greeter will help you find a class suitable for your needs. While most of our adult classes are age-based, others are based on interests, age of children, or other important factors. After finding a suitable class, our greeter will escort you to the room and help you meet a few people to get acquinted. Free coffee is always available! You will find a small group (15-30) of adults who are casually dressed, engaged in informal discussion, and ready to welcome you into their group. Most adults bring a Bible with them, but if you do not have one there will be a lesson-book that has the scripture printed. While many teachers will use a discussion format, as a guest you will never be put on the spot or called out to read, answer questions, or pray aloud. Some class participants will be well-versed in scripture knowledge while others in the same class are brand new to Biblical study and have very limited knowledge of scriptural facts and doctrines.
There may be several adult classes which fit your needs. You are welcome to try several classes before settling on one class, or you may find a class that is just what you've been looking for from the very first Sunday!
Anyone is welcome to join our Sunday School. Membership in a Sunday School class ensures that you are on the church mailing list as well as the class roster, so that you will receive information both about the church and about class activities.
Soon you will feel right at home in your new Sunday School class, and you will find that you look forward to being "with family" each Sunday morning. We encourage you to begin the Sunday School journey from the first Sunday you come to First Baptist! You will be glad you did.
Pre-schoolers, children, and teenagers also have age-divided Sunday School classes at 9:30 a.m. Most of these classes are divided by school grade or birth date. Loving volunteers, screened for safety and trained for effectiveness, are leading these classes.
